Important Update: Change is Underway (please read)

I have some important news to share with you.


Over the last year, I’ve been sensing in my spirit that some type of change is in the air. It is hard to describe, because I can’t even fully describe why I felt that way, but little things seemed to indicate change was around the corner. If you’ve ever experienced something like this, you know what I mean.

Over the holidays, after a lot of prayer and consideration, and with a deep sense of peace, I made the decision to resign from VOH, effective end of this month.

I’ve had an amazing time at VOH and will ever be grateful for the experiences gained during my time here. I’ve seen the impact the ministry is having on the lives of so many children first-hand, and there’s nothing like working from a desk and hearing the laughter of children in the background! It brings me such joy! (I think you know what I mean by some of my updates!)  It has been a wonderful chapter of my life!

Yesterday was the last day at the VOH Tanzania location. It touched my heart during our all staff and VOH children chapel to see those young lives singing praises to Him. I had a chance to share with them and encourage them to remember they are a child of God, deeply loved and cared for by Him. The "January babies" shared cake (including me) and I shared farewell with the VOH Tanzania team. What a great way to spend the last day at the office! I'm wrapping up work today and tomorrow, then a new chapter begins.
 
So, What’s Next?

My prayer and hope is to continue in missions, and I’m actively working towards that end.

There are already a few interesting possibilities starting to emerge! I have meetings planned over the next few weeks to explore each potential opportunity further, and am trusting God to open the door that will excite my soul and align with my gifts and calling.

I expect to know more by the beginning of March and will update you on progress at that time. Can’t wait to share with you what unfolds!

  1. As I go through this transition – that God will continue to help me trust Him in real time 
  2. That the right opportunity will unfold – where I can continue to use my gifts and experience to serve Him in even greater ways!
  3. That a surge of excitement and joy will well up in my soul – knowing a new chapter is about to begin!

Jan 2025 - I'm excited!

  Happy New Year! A few weeks ago, I was reflecting on what 2025 will hold, and was thinking about what should be my focus in the months ahead. I found myself talking to God, telling Him I don't want this to "business as usual". I thought about Christmas and the anticipation we often have about a family member or friend opening that special gift you bought with just them in mind, or the wonder in a child's eyes on Christmas Eve, and it dawned on me ....   I want this to be a year of excitement and anticipation. I've been working alongside VOH Africa now for almost 6 years and lived in Tanzania long enough now that I'm familiar with the mission and know my way around. As I looked around ... my heart was touched - Feb 2025

                                                                            Chapel time at VOH Tanzania Wednesdays are my favorite day of the week at VOH. It's when the children gather for discipleship class. It always makes my day when I'm working at my desk and hear the children's singing fill the air. Even though they are gathering at the on-location chapel which is probably 300 feet or more away, their voices are loud, full of rhythm and full of joy. Every month we have a joint chapel with VOH staff and the children. As I joined this month, first we sang action songs, where the children danced as they sang, "we talk with Him, we walk Him ..."
